Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival to Ilulissat
Air Iceland afternoon flight from Reykjavik Domestic Airport to Ilulissat. Ilulissat is known for the giant icebergs in its surrounding waters and home to the UNESCO designated Ilulissat Ice Fjord. This is the third largest town in Greenland and a a city where modern life meets traditional life style, all surrounded by amazing nature.
Meet and greet by our guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in, information meeting including details for the upcoming ship voyage and guided city walk. There are several optional excursions on offer like a midnight boat trip to the famous Icefjord enjoying the magical szenery lit by the mignight sun.

Day 2 (Sunday): Ilulissat at boarding Sarfaq Ittuk
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure in Ilulissat for optional excursions until the afternoon transfer to the pier for embarking MV Sarfaq Ittuk. Departure at 16:30 h for our southbound cruise along the Greenlandic West Coast.
21.00-22.00 Short stop in Aasiaat.

Day 3 (Monday): On the sea
Sailing south along the Greenlandic West Coast. Meet the local population travelling from town to town to visit relatives and friends along the coast. Enjoy the beautiful and varied landscape as we leave the rugged arctic nature and reach the green and fertile South Greenland. We sail in open waters and in narrow straits, so close that you can almost touch the mountains. Along the way the ship calls at the major towns and at a few settlements. Everywhere, the arrival of the ship makes people rush to the harbour to welcome friends and relatives. Life on board is relaxing; Enjoy the view and make sure to keep your eyes open, as humpback whales are sometimes seen.
09.00-11.00 h Call at Sisimiut incl. city tour of Sisimiut.
21.15-22.30 h Short stop in Maniitsoq.

Day 4 (Tuesday): On the sea & Nuuk, Greenland's capital
Sailing south along the Greenlandic West Coast.
07.30-13.00 h Call at Nuuk incl. special city tour of Nuuk.
Nuuk is Greenland's capital. With its ca. 15.000 inhabitants and modern architecture it is quite different from the little colourful settlements that make up the majority of urban centers in the country, the infrastructure is that of any other north European city - in a smaller scale, though. Nuuk has several universities and a lot of young Greenlanders come here to study. Also the hospital is the biggest and most modern one in the country. Here you'll also find Greenland's only two (!) traffic lights!

Day 5 (Wednesday): Last day on the sea, arrival in Narsaq
Sailing in the South Greenland Archipelago.
06:00-06:30 h Short stop in Paamiut.
21:30 h Arrival to Narsaq.
Meet and greet by a guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and information meeting.

Day 6 & 7 (Thursday & Friday): Free time in Narsaq
Breakfast at hotel. Short city tour of Narsaq on day 6. Optional excursions during rest of the stay in Narsaq.

Day 8 (Saturday): Qassiarsuk and flight home
Breakfast at hotel. Farewell meeting with your guide. Transfer to Narsaq pier and by boat through Erik's Fjord to Narsarsuaq. En route we will make a stop at Qassiarsuk, the site of Erik the Red's farm. The remains of his house and the church built by his wife can still be seen today.
